In my previous post, I had typed a more in-depth response but ended up deleting it. I'm sure most people have heard that Larson has split up from her second husband, David Hunt. David is now coaching at Texas and she's not. Word was that she was going back to Italy, not Texas, but now she's coaching at a small college in Nebraska. I wanted to avoid the gossip but ended up spilling it anyways, lol. I've been curious BTW how much a player -- not necessarily Larson, just an American -- can earn overseas. Is there info online that divulges contract info? There are sources, I just ask other users on Volleytalk. For generational talent (cream of the crop), anywhere between 500k to 1MM per season. For really good players (perennial starters), anywhere between 175K to 350K. For college grads, if they can find a team, anywhere between 50K to 150K. This is a rough estimate, based on what I've heard in the past. I think they're close enough to help you get an idea of where the market is with regard to pro contracts.

The highest I ever heard (not verified, but I think ball-park) was $1,000,000 for Destiny Hooker for one season in South Korea. I seem to recall Megan Hodge received something in the range of $400K, but that may be way low, or too high. Others probably have better info. I also forgot to mention that it really depends on the league. Turkiye, Russia, and S. Korea pay the most. Italy, China, and Japan are a tier below with regard to pay. Then you have France, Germany, etc. Italy is the most competitive league, though, and the best for player development.

Well, I just watched Purdue take MINN in 3, 25-18, 25-23, 32-30. It was a match of runs. Lots of runs by both teams. Pass and receive was won by Purdue. MINN was out of system a bunch. Eva Hudson, Purdue's freshman, had 21 kills and hit .372. Taylor Landfill, I mean Landfair, can hit it so hard it's unreal. Purdue hit .248, Minn .198, Purdue had 5 aces to MINN's 1, Purdue 51 kills to 42 for Minn. Very exciting match. At times, MINN seemed to have things in hand, but Purdue always came back.
And on top of all that, Purdue's regular setter was out, and Grace Balensiefer, a grad student from N. Illinois, set and did a really good job. First win for Purdue since 2015.

I saw the last eight points or so in the match. Purdue was bringing the heat with its serve. Very impressive.

That’s beautiful, to be sure, but to me it also looks kind of ominous, to be honest. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning, and all that.

Attendance in the football stadium is unbelievable considering the opponent. Football in Happy Valley is bigger than ever.

In a matchup between former Penn State volleyball players Jenna Hampton and AC Fitzpatrick, Hampton’s Gamecocks emerged victorious at home.
