Michigan State added 6-2 MB Lauren Schuter to their 2022 class (I guess replacing Gillian Grimes):

"equitable and inclusive NIL network"
Can we get to the point where we accept anything any company or institution does is "equitable and inclusive" so we don't see that phrase in front of everything?

He's right. As long as we don't have to watch WIWVB.

WVB is my favorite sport by far but I try to take an objective viewpoint when looking at it. Volleyball is a very popular participation sport at the high school/prep level. Volleyball simply isn't all that popular as a spectator sport.
Why would you nationally televise the first two rounds of the NCAA volleyball tournament when the tv ratings would be dismal.
It's all about how many eyeballs networks can attract on their programming. Fencing and synchronized swimming fans could demand equal tv coverage as WVB. It would fall on deaf ears and rightly so.

IIRC the viewership for NCAA WVB tourney was highest yet this past year. I've had conversations about this with sports writers: essentially, we won't write it cause nobody cares (one who said this BTW was father of a GVB player). Wouldn't even cover that local women had been selected to US national teams. IMHO, when sports writers cover this stuff, readers determine it must be important. We don't show it on major channels: no one thinks it's important.

TV ratings are only important to the networks when they’re negotiating advertising prices and whatnot. The general consumer will watch what they’re interested in and typically doesn’t care how well an event does ratings-wise when tuning in. Streaming is also a big factor that often gets overlooked, because not nearly as many households have cable subscriptions as they did five years ago. It’s clear there’s a demand for volleyball on national TV. I think the NCAA volleyball tournament ratings would surprise some people in terms of how well it would actually do. Hopefully more matches are available to watch this fall.

I also think that as a part of any agreement to play preconference matches...host MUST stream ALL matches. We still IIRC have never seen the GT PSU match that UCF hosted. Minimum: still camera and a live/preserved stream.
KSC: Please?
