My mistake.  In the prior match against Utah, Kubik and Sun both hit abysmally.   Lexi Sun was only in 1 set in the Stanford match  and I found it hard to believe that she was capable of playing and didn't especially considering that the freshman who were playing more didn't play well at all.  I would think that she would have come in near the end if nothing else seeing how that her replacement didn't play that well.  I would wager that Cook thinks about the same as Coach about winning and losing.  See below for Cook's supposed rational.  I say supposed just because coaches will never tell you all that they're thinking.  But I've proved that I can't read RR's mind; not a surprise that I can't read John Cook's mind either.

Both Kubik and Sun hit better than that against Creighton, hitting .200 and .250 respectively, not sure what that's about.  Could be that he's trying to get the attention of Kubik and Sun.  Then again, if the freshman can't handle being pulled, then Nebraska has a big problem this year.  

I feel for her. Hopefully she recovers quickly and fully.

That's three losses in a row for Nebraska, yes?

Statistics-at-a-glance can be so misleading. Sitting atop the B1G leaderboard is Maryland, 12-0. Followed by TOSU, 9-0, and WI 8-1.

Meanwhile, PSU, NE, MN sitting in places 8, 9, 10. Below Rutgers, above Indiana.

If you guessed at the composition of UMD's pre-conference schedule, you'd be right. Back in 2017, they had a chance to play UWA, USC, and OK in the preseason and beat two. This year, no such opps. Will Adam's face look like Sunahara's after realizing a preseason with no losses is no guarantee of success v a team from the B1G?

Attractive as the 12-0 looks on the surface, I suspect Coach, Cook, and Hugh wouldn't trade their losses for UMD's 2021 schedule.

TOSU OTOH, beat UWA and played no other ranked opponents as far as I saw; but they're wondering what their preseason revealed about their prospects. Their case may be diametrically opposed to UMD's, if last year's performance is any indication. They'll be playing 8-1 PU (lost to Louisville) first thing. That should be interesting. BTW, they play Notre Dame at TOSU this afternoon. (Update: beat ND, but it took 5. TOSU had a single, very dominant looking set. The rest was hard fought.)

WI (8-0) lost a set each to Baylor and UKy and beat NCAA championship perennial Dayton twice. Technically, today, sitting in 3rd. We shall see.

agree most wholeheartedly.  But that's just the math version of a world of grammer violations, word misusage, and idiom that can't be right because it's not my generation!  Yes, I am part of the "Get off my lawn!" generation.  Proud of it, dad gum it!
