According to her Instagram story, Taylor Trammell recently arrived in State College and received a bunch of her new Penn State Nike gear. Trammell is a big-time addition for the Nittany Lions. I think Penn State fans will love watching her play. Lol. Always have. Even when it hurt.

A poster on the other board reports that Penn State will open its 2022 season, at home, with Loyola Maryland, Duquesne, West Virginia and UConn. Underwhelming from an RPI standpoint, but perhaps helpful for a team that will feature eight new players, and six new starters (with Coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley needing to replace 2021 starters Erika Pritchard, Adanna Rollins, Kaitlyn Hord, Jonni Parker, Gabby Blossom, and Jenna Hampton).

Coach always exhibited a responsibility to the teams in the region to include them in the pre-conference season. Such as Howard, and Pitt when Pitt wasn't today's Pitt.
It was clear he knew about the impact on RPI, but it seemed to speak to a bigger, less selfish purpose.
If that is continuing, I respect it.

It's nice to see someone writing about Penn State Women's Volleyball. But it would be nice if he had done his homework a bit better. For example, he listed only three transfers-in, omitting Seleisa Elisaia entirely. Maybe he thought it wasn't necessary, as he writes "With these transfers, Penn State ultimately didn’t lose too much but instead reloaded with even more firepower." Now, I think the new staff did an amazing job bringing in new talent, and I think we will be stronger at OH. But comparing the offensive/defensive impact of Zoe Weatherington to that of Kaitlyn Hord, as the author did, may be a bit optimistic (even putting aside the fact that they play different positions). I'm hoping for really good things from Zoe Weatherington, and think she will be a dynamic player for Penn State, but, if she approaches the impact of Hord -- who was among the very best middle blockers in the country, I will be both ecstatic, and surprised. I could go on with other omissions in the article, but that would be piling on. Again, it's a positive to see the Collegian writing about KSC and the 2022 squad. But get your facts right. Dig deep. Do the work. Just like the 2022 squad surely will do.

I only read Collegian articles for quotes from interviews that may not have been captured elsewhere. All other writing/analysis/commentary? Avoid at all costs! Though from my own time as a student at PSU who was misquoted so many times, read the quotes with a grain of salt, too!
