Perhaps this weekend will help, as a perfect opportunity to work on everything that was exposed tonight. That said, I wouldn't say JMU is a "cupcake" as they typically compete hard in their conference and was an NCAA Tournament Team last year. Point taken. But it doesn’t Matter. If you don’t step up to the plate with confidence when the lights are bright. Then what does it matter ? It'll matter if they get better from it. We shall see...

NOW she puts in Markley. Late in the third when it's already out of hand.

Definitely a match we tuck away deep in our memories, similar to @ Nebraska two years ago.

All aspects of the game, including coaching (leaving Caroline in is insanity), are off! PITT is playing very well, but not one aspect of our game, passing serving, serve receive, blocking, attacking etc is on. They seem flat. I did not think we are a #3 team, but after watching the Louisville game, I had hope. I think this is another sweet sixteen year.

PSU sweeping Louisville In retrospect may have been the worst thing that could have happened to this team. What happened to CJ - she played lights out against Louisville and now something is way off. I know she is young but it is just odd. KSC seems reluctant to pull her as well.

I feel about PSU tonight the way I felt about Louisville when we played them. Debeers….POY!! hitting negative and very little TAs at that. This feeling that this just makes no sense. Although I enjoyed that one it seemed too easy.
As to Jurevicius— I feel like we’ve seen this movie before. An RS who turns in an outrageously fine performance and then there’s less and less.except for inconsistency.

So apparently we have zero depth. Have we made any subs? Markley when the game is already out of hand. We have plenty of depth and zero clue how to use it. Hopp and Markley have plenty of college volleyball experience, bring a big block, and would be starters at almost any other program, and yet we won’t make a sub even when we are getting drilled. Its absolutely mind boggling to ride that out and not even attempt to change the line up and find something that works.

Need to keep in mind that Louisville was swept by us and Nebraska was swept by SMU. So very good teams get swept. Let's see what happens this weekend, and especially at Purdue next week. Gotta learn and grow fast. at least we were swept by the #1 team at their home.

Props to Pitt. I honestly didn't think we would win, but I definitely didn't think we'd get swept... Because I didn't think Pitt deserved the #1 ranking/is actually that good.
I agree that everything seemed off, and I too had hoped we'd see other players come in to try anything other than what we saw tonight.
Onto the next.

Again for some reason she seems to have loyalty to certain people even if they are having the worst night of their life.

Unfortunately too when many graduate next year and markley will be needed I think we will see her enter the transfer portal. In the grand scheme of things I am surprised we didn’t see that happen before this season.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not let Markley go to the portal. We need her next year. I love her game. She reminds me so much of Megan Courtney. I have also been so impressed with Ava this year. Sadly, she had a bad night as well. I thought set decisions were strange. Jess also really needs to work on serve receive. PITT really exploited it and took her out of the offense. I still have high hopes for this team but to have everyone have a bad night at the same time gave me 2023 Louisville vibes. BTW, watching Nebraska and Stanford now... we have work to do if we want final four appearance.
