They wear jewelry in the pros and FIVB events, which is played at a much higher level than the NCAA level. So, I don't see the problem.

The dangers are not just to the one wearing, but if it falls off could it be a slip hazard for other players. Depends on the fastener used, and no one wants to police that. Rings: on hands swiping balls: could players create a set of brass knuckles with an array of rings?
These are the things -- possibly fanciful -- that occur to me. The main principle: what's the easiest to enforce?
And by the way...of all the things facing women's sports -- things that REALLY matter--why clog up the moment with this?

Here's one. Probably of not too much interest to B1G fans. USC lost to Denver. Is USC considered good this season? I think I recall alot of transfers in and out the past couple of seasons, but not sure what the net effect (no pun intended) was. |

They have six transfers in and the net effect should be a better team than Denver. They are picked to finish sixth in the PAC-12.

Here's one. Probably of not too much interest to B1G fans. USC lost to Denver. UD has made it into the NCAA tourney probably 4/5 of the last years, so they are no pushover. But I don't know that they've ever won a tourney match. OT: I was in a Denver hotel for a couple years back and there was something about the folks sitting next to me at breakfast that made me ask why they were there...parents of the UD L, in from HI or CA. You hang around WVB long enough, it seems like you can recognize at VB family or player with amazing ease. |

BTW, since I paid up for the ESPN+, I was nosing around some other matches this morning and the UF match at a tourney in CA caught my eye (SFSt, SacSt, UCDavis). Saw something I don't recall ever seeing before: Montserez the UF Setter slammed down an overpass from UCD. I thought only MBs were allowed to do that!! Lol.  |

Whether the Denver match was an upset or not, USC redeemed itself today. They swept the Campbell University Fighting Camels of Buies Creek, North Carolina.
Speaking of UF, Stanford plays Florida on Tuesday. That won't be pretty. I'm hoping Stanford makes it to 20 points in one of the sets.
