Is Ryan Walthall or Colin McMillan leaving, or has the NCAA recently allowed a third full-time assistant coach for MVB? It’s being said that Ryan accepted a WVB position at a mid-major school and is no longer with PSU. I don’t have the connections to confirm/deny this, but I did notice that he wasn’t on the sidelines at this past weekend’s PSU MVB matches.

How is she going to coach at Texas and play professionally in Italy? Private jets? Transfer Portal?

How is she going to coach at Texas and play professionally in Italy? Private jets? Transfer Portal? Clearly Texas has tapped into their $30 billion endowment to create a Transporter. Beam me up... to Italy.

So, this arguably (very arguably) is "off-topic" in that it's about Norway in the Winter Olympics, but it is "on topic" in the sense that it's about what makes for a winning culture. This story is about how Norway, with 5.5 million people, routinely wins more Winter Olympic Gold Medals (and more total medals) than any other country. Reading this story reminded me of how Penn State wrestlers under Cael Sanderson, who clearly train very, very hard, often talk about having fun and being grateful. Norway seems similar: Somethng tells me Coach Katie has a similar outlook -- train very, very hard. Compete very, very hard. But have fun and be grateful. Here's a link to the complete article (it may require a subscription): www.washingtonpost.com/sports/olympics/2022/02/15/norway-biathlon-medals-lead/

Pollock Halls renovations to begin during the 2024-25 academic year. (FINALLY! Long overdue!)
Unfortunately, funding for this project includes increasing student housing rates for next year.

Which dorms are across from Rec Hall? West Halls - "west is best". I wonder if/how they would renovate West since it's "historic".

Historic designation doesn't mean you can't touch. It doesn't mean the place has to turn into a museum. There are certain aspects, usually most especially the exterior, that can only be updated carefully. And maybe things like gathering areas. But there are places like the housing on the lawn at UVA which, down to the fireplaces, in their totality are historic and pretty much untouched (except for utilities). If it is designated as a National Landmark... Under Federal Law, the listing of a property in the National Register places no restrictions on what a non-federal owner may do with their property up to and including destruction, unless the property is involved in a project that receives Federal assistance, usually funding or licensing/permitting. www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=c5a07c14e9b695af2ef0cae29b4b4f23&mc=true&node=pt36.1.60&rgn=div5There may be state or local preservation laws that a property owner should be aware of before they undertake a project with a historic property. We recommend you, or the property owner contact the State historic preservation office (SHPO) before an action with a listed property is taken. The SHPO is the state agency that oversees historic preservation efforts in their state. You can find contact information for the SHPOs here. If Federal monies are attached to the property then any changes to the property have to allow the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (www.achp.gov) to comment on the project. You can also read a copy of the National Register of Historic Places code of Federal regulations at: www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=c5a07c14e9b695af2ef0cae29b4b4f23&mc=true&node=pt36.1.60&rgn=div5You can also find general information for owners here.
