KSC’s statement: “This is an exciting time for Big Ten women's volleyball as we add two outstanding programs in UCLA and USC to what is already the best volleyball conference in the country. Their athletic success combined with their reputations as prestigious academic institutions make both schools a perfect fit for the Big Ten. These additions ensure our conference will be strong for years to come. I am happy to welcome both schools to the Big Ten!”

According to Blue White Illustrated's Nate Bauer, AD Pat Kraft is blunt that Penn State facilities "stink" and that finding donors to drive facility projects forward is a focus right away.
Per Bauer, Kraft is committed to all 31 programs and has the thought that if Penn State is going to carry 31 sport, we owe it to our Student Athletes to have (paraphrasing) basics like locker rooms at each stadium. Kraft specifically mentioned how he's not okay with Women's Soccer winning a National Championship in 2015 and still not having indoor plumbing at their stadium and that they have to figure out the natatorium and tennis facilities.
The interview also goes into football talk for those interested.

I see that Grambling fired their WVB coach and reinstated all players dismissed by the now terminated leader. I say the school made the correct decision. Wonder why it took so long?

Just think if this eliminated touch challenges. I think if we crunched the challenge data, we'd find that touch challenges take the biggest slice of time per challenge. And even then, I think the fans seldom feel the review has been adequate.

On a Stanford message board the question kept coming up would the UC system allow UCLA to be in a different sports conference than UCBerkeley. Well the reports are now coming out the UC Regents intends to take legal action to prevent UCLA from splitting away from the conference Berkeley is in. I have no idea what will happen with that.

Well the reports are now coming out the UC Regents intends to take legal action to prevent UCLA from splitting away from the conference Berkeley is in. I have no idea what will happen with that. On one hand, it seems impossible that UCLA wouldn't have explored this question fully before moving ahead. On the other hand, knowing a bit about huge bureaucracies, it doesn't.

This is a fascinating and insightful interview about the ramifications of adding USC and UCLA to the Big Ten.
