For better or worse, it's going to be raining NILs. Stand by for the NFTs. We should set up a poll...who will be the first PSU WVB to have an NFT? A serve from Hancock?

Is there any rule against wealthy alums telling a coveted recruit they will give her $1million for an autographed jersey if she comes to their school? I see this opening up a pandora's box of buying recruits if there are not safeguards in place. It won't happen so much in volleyball but could run rampant in football. I agree entirely. I suspect that alums will still be limited in talking to recruits about anything, but I wonder if staff can pitch a school's NIL program to a young person. The larger schools will now have an even bigger advantage in landing top talent than they already have since a player now must consider income potential in addition to (or perhaps instead of?) traditional factors. "Hey, come to PSU. We have a group of advertisers lined up to meet our whole team on ...."

For sure there will be people who will be pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable. Like with all new rule changes, it'll take some time to work out the kinks.
I agree that VB will not be in the forefront.

I agree with you that the amounts of money involved with VB will pale compared to deals for football and basketball stars. But the opportunities at some schools -- which high school players will be generally aware of, regardless of what rules the NCAA has regarding recruiting inducements -- probably will, in some instances, help steer recruits to certain schools over other schools. So the dollar impact will be less, but the recruiting impact may be similar.
