Is there still a site where you can access the ballots of the individual AVCA voters?

Be interesting to see how Miami does against some top teams. MINN turned out to be a fraud, as they've lost to Baylor and TCU; not that Baylor and TCU are bad teams, just not top level (at least that's what it looks like). As someone else commented, maybe teams are getting too much credit for beating Texas. Very possible that Texas ain't as good as initially thought. Be very interesting to see where Texas ends up.
As a well known quote goes: "You're never as good as everyone tells you when you win, and you're never as bad as they say when you lose.".
I know that a lot of observers thought that there was a lot of parity last year. This year seems to have parity in spades. Should be a fascinating season to see how things shape out. Who will win at the end? Or it may be, who will get hot at the right time.
OTOH, it is the beginning of the season. This season may tell us who the best coaches are; what teams improve the most over the course of the season.
Maybe PSU isn't as good as we think they are since PSU had the advantage of more prep time than most teams. We'll see.

I still don't understand why the PSU team was so lackadaisical for the first 1-2 or 3 sets of the KY match. That just doesn't make sense to me. It's early in the season and KY is a pretty highly ranked team. It's good that they were able to finally get it together.
OTOH, I'm probably over thinking it. We got no idea what's going on in the team as a whole. Hopefully we don't see too many more matches like this. Maybe from the teams point of view it's not that early when you take the European tour into consideration. You can pretty much guarantee that we'll see at least one more game like this. That's just the way a season goes.

I don't think it's lackadaisical. I do think it would be natural for there to be a letdown after the emotional "payback" win over Louisville. Plus, I think CJ may have been slightly off from her ankle (just a guess). Plus, Kentucky is a very good team. So, not ideal. Not what we (or Katie, or the team) want to see, but I wouldn't stress about it.

I also was thinking that perhaps the team was going through a bit of an emotional letdown/crash after the high intensity of the Louisville win. I also wondered if they might have lost some focus due to the delayed start? Or perhaps an overconfidence facing #9 having demolished #4? Either way, I agree that Kentucky is very good, so not a team you want to face if you're not physically, mentally, and emotionally ready.

Michella - "Ranked wins are really important to me, but it’s not everything. Pitt may have less ranked wins, but this is one of the most complete teams… etc.” What I would ask Michella - How do we know Pitt is "one of the most complete teams" without more ranked wins? They may be, but how can you say without a doubt that they're #1?

I think Pitt is being judged on last year plus this year. They ended up better than Stanford or PSU and so is a better team than them this year. Not a provable fact at this point in time.
Edit: She says ranked wins are really important to her and then ignores them. Oh well. What she meant was, "What I think of the team is really really important and then ranked wins are really important."

I used to like Michella's Power Rankings, but lately it just seems like a list of the teams that she feels good about at any given time.

She frequently gives shout outs and credit when they do good, especially to individual players. Pitt as of late (last 2-3 years) has been a power. They deserve to be where they're at and it's a safe call based on where the program is. It might be a little hasty to vault PSU to the top. The ladies are doing great, but let them get some more reps with each other, and build on their success to become unstoppable.

Oh, I don't think PSU should be #1 (at least yet) and as mentioned, Pitt may very well be the best/most complete team right now... I'm just making fun of Michella's logic.
