It appears Nebraska is going back to Nicklin Hames as its setter, at least, for now. Hames said this summer that she was planning to play defensive specialist this season.

Minnesota handled Florida relatively easily in 4 sets. The Gophers look very strong. They are good enough that arguably the top incoming freshman in the country, McKenna Wucherer, is riding the bench.
The officials had a sequence during the fourth set that was pretty terrible. First a Florida slam was correctly called out by the line judge, but inexplicably the down official saw a fantom touch. Minny challenged and won. Two plays later a Florida hit was obviously touched and so ruled by the line judge, but the up official erroneously overruled that call. Florida challenged and won. Minnesota then went on a run to get to 15-12. Florida didn't call a timeout because there is a TV timeout at 15. But the up official seemed to forget and Minnesota served and went up 16-12 before the officials called the TV timeout a point too late.
Fortunately, the match wasn't close enough for the officiating to matter very much.

I love Ohio State's seven game pre-B1G schedule. Five games against top ten teams and a sixth against a top 20 team. I believe that competition will build the character of their team. Much better preparation than the softer schedules of the other teams including PSU.

Much better preparation than the softer schedules of the other teams including PSU. Agreed. But PSU has different needs. All new players need easier competition to build confidence and cooperation. OSU is taking more advanced classes.

Well, Minn just had their head handed to them by Stanford, 25-20, 25-18, 22-25 and 25-12. Minn played like they were sleep walking for most of the night. Only reason they won the third set was a 10-1 run when they were down 17-12. On the "forum that shall not be named", 49 out of 70 picked Minn to go undefeated in this weekend. 7 picked PSU. Go figure.
