In the latest poll -- 9-28-15 (see first post for the link) USC received 1 1st-place vote.

I think the reasoning is Nebraska beat Penn State at Rec Hall, and their loss to Ohio State was also away. Voters discounted the OSU loss because of that and because it followed the grueling PSU win. I don't fault that logic (if that's what it was).

I agree. Yet on the other site, so many are up in arms about not falling enough. Stanford moved up one spot couple of weekends ago after losing one and winning one. I guess there are many who are not happy with PSU's success.

I guess there are many who are not happy with PSU's success. Very possible. Unfortunately, PSU has had more than its share of obnoxious posters on VT, so some of the anti-PSU feeling stems from that, I think. I also wouldn't have thought it unfair if we had been voted 6th or 7th.

Just an opinion poll that means nothing when it comes to Dec so no use people getting in a twist on VT with others about it. I think if we can survive with no more losses then we should be a top 4 seed but season is a long way from over. 2nd half of Conference season starts with 1st match with Ohio State.

I expect us to lose at least two more matches in B1G. Hope I'm wrong.

It's ok to be realistic and watch our team slowly keep getting better as the season progresses. We still have a young team and I enjoy watching them compete every match. I think Simone Lee will continue to play at a high level and Megan will return sooner or later.

What'll happen from now on depends a lot on how soon Megan is able to recover fully and get back on the court. If she is able to be back within next couple of weeks, PSU will still be able to finish in the top 10. Otherwise...

With adversity, comes character building. If Megan is not able to play, we can and should look for someone to step up and become integral to a level that makes people notice. You cannot replace a Megan. Not fair to the replacement. Inky could not be replaced. Stanford is not the Stanford they would have been with Inky able to play. And yet, they have found ways to cope and are starting to play better as a team. Brittany Howard, who is already a star, has upped her 'star power' by becoming an even better blocker and offensive threat. She has had an amazing year so far. So, hopefully, we will see a new and perhaps unexpected star take over for Penn State.

Inky obviously gone for the season. Not sure of Jordan's status. Stanford's continued success speaks to the character of the team and the depth of their bench. Well, and Hodson was a nice addition

See Rose's ballot for 10-19! Limited access right now. Where did he vote PSU ( my guess is 8th or 9th -- so I guess that is two guesses)
