Well, dropping a set to Maryland appears to have been viewed as a good thing -- Penn State picked up 1st place votes, while USC, Washington and Minnesota all lost votes. Week 11: 11-9-15 AVCA Polli wonder if they drilled down to some of the still very impressive stats for the season, rather than watching. watching the matches didn't give us/me the same feelings of domination. I bet being the 2-time defending National Champs helped PSU's case a lot. Although, the point difference is only 9 this week vs 26 points last week, so that's an interesting twist to this week's poll. The last 2 year's rankings showed no respect for PSU after their losses. I think the voters learned their lesson. Never count Penn State out of the National Championship mix, especially with their roster. Also, don't forget, when their best all around player (Courtney) went down, they kept on rolling, winning all 4 games in her absence. Would USC, Texas, Minnesota, Washington, etc. be able to accomplish that feat? PSU's roster is deeper than most of the top 10 teams and injuries could be a major factor as the season wears on. Look at Stanford, they suffered 5 losses mostly due to Inky's injury/absence.

Courtney remarked on the team doing just fine without her and now that she's back enjoying watching the sophomores do their thing... the PSU link didn't work for me, so here it is from Destination Volleyball: to see the Megan Courtney interview: destinationvolleyball.com/2015/11/02/penn-states-megan-courtney/

I looked at some of the ballots. I noted non-BIG coaches were more likely to punish OSU for their performance last week, one of them removing OSU completely. Interesting to observe and ponder whether it is bias or exposure.
Michigan is out and ~3rd in line to reenter.
Also noted Coach's ballot inverted the PSU and MN placements from last ballot.
Of the subset of ballots i looked at, there was a consistent top-4: two BIGs and two PAC12s, more frequently in the order of the cumulative chart published yesterday. Most frequently USC outranked WA and PSU outranked MN.

From the 15 points...14. Bracket Predictions
The top 14 teams in the RPI above seem pretty locked in for seeds. The last two seeds should see one of Texas A&M or Missouri, and one of Louisville or Florida State…with Illinois and BYU also still in the hunt. Here are my bracket predictions:
San Diego Regional: 1. Southern Cal, 2. Florida, 3. Stanford, 4. Illinois Des Moines Regional: 1. Minnesota, 2.Wisconsin, 3. Kansas, 4. Iowa State Austin Regional: 1. Texas, 2. Nebraska, 3. UCLA, 4. Texas A&M Lexington Regional: 1. Penn State, 2. Washington, 3. Ohio State, 4. Kentucky
Assuming the first rounds are played at highest ranked (the top 16), how does PSU treat season ticket holders? First year i've held them...preference given/seat assignments reserved? thanks!

If the seedings are something similar to your assessment, it's not a bad senario for PSU. Even though Washington will be a tough opponent, getting OSU and Kentucky is a better option than how others proposed in VT.

I'm wondering how the RPI will change if PSU defeats MN or vice-versa. Does anyone know how that plays out in the RPI rankings?

Season Ticket holders do not get preference to any seating in post season. First come; First served in rounds 1 and 2.

This poll is a lot more reflective of who deserves those rankings.

Week 13: 11-23-15USC #1, Minny #4, Penn State #7. Compare and contrast. How do they justify putting Stanford ahead of PSU? I mean come on. There is something seriously wrong here. I know we suffered 2 losses in a row, but PSU swept Stanford and the Cardinal have 6 losses vs 4 for PSU. I'm not saying PSU is not deserving of being dropped to #7 but don't put Stanford ahead, that's just wrong. For the record, I was against putting PSU (with 2 losses) ahead of USC (with 1 loss) 3 weeks ago or so.
